Who we are

eConta is a service of the company with tax ID RO41060832, trade register J2019002001357, Str. Iancu Văcărescu nr. 12, cam. 2, et. 2, ap. 5, Timișoara 300182, jud. Timiș, România. Contact: contact@econta.tax.

Terms and conditions

  • Service. eConta reads receipts and invoices, exports them to Excel or Saga, and keeps waybills and car loan (comodat) contracts. It is a tool; it does not keep your books for you.
  • Account. You are responsible for activity in your account and for the people you invite.
  • Packages. Prices and scan limits are shown on the pricing page. Every receipt or invoice read counts as a scan, including each receipt in a multi-receipt photo and each re-read. A new office gets a 30-day trial of Contabil, then moves to Free unless it subscribes.
  • Payment. Prices are in lei and exclude VAT. You pay by card through Stripe, monthly or yearly; the subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Invoices are issued through RO e-Factura. Price changes for existing subscriptions are announced by email at least 30 days ahead.
  • Cancellation. Cancel any time in the app (Subscription and billing → Stop the subscription) or by writing to contact@econta.tax. You keep the paid package until the end of the paid period. Started periods are not refunded unless the law requires it or the service failed through our fault.
  • Your data. Documents stay yours. Automatic reading can be wrong: check the data before booking or filing it.
  • Files are kept 90 days. A photo (for example of a receipt) is kept as a PDF once it is read. 90 days after upload the file (PDF, photo, XML, Excel) is deleted from the server; the data read from it (supplier, tax ID, number, date, amounts, VAT, lines, payments) stays in the account while it is active and can be exported at any time. If you need the original files for longer, download them first (for example with "Download files (ZIP)"). For files already uploaded on 19 October 2026, the 90 days count from that date.
  • Liability. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and total liability per year is capped at what you paid in the last 12 months (not applicable to intent or gross negligence).
  • Law. Romanian law applies; disputes go to the courts at our registered office.

Privacy policy

  • Controller. The company that runs eConta (identified above) for account data; for documents an accounting office uploads for its clients, the office is the controller and we process on its behalf.
  • Data. Account and billing data, uploaded documents and the data read from them, waybill and comodat details (including a driver's or owner's name, personal ID number and address), technical logs, and where the account first came from (see Cookies).
  • Providers. Hetzner (hosting, Germany), Google Gemini (document reading), Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (card payments), Resend (email), Oblio (e-Factura invoices), and ANAF's public register (tax ID checks). Transfers outside the EEA rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
  • Retention. Uploaded files: 90 days from upload, then deleted from the server. Account data and the data read from documents: while the account is active and up to 30 days after closing; backups for 14 days; invoices as long as accounting law requires; the anonymous steps to an account (cookie ec_v) for 13 months.
  • Your rights. Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection: write to contact@econta.tax. You can also complain to ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
  • Cookies. Strictly necessary cookies for signing in and keeping the session. One more first-party cookie, ec_v (econta.tax and app.econta.tax, 12 months), holds a random visitor code (no name, email or IP address), the number of visits and the last one, and where you came from the first and the latest time (UTM parameters, ad click id, referring site, page). With it we count, anonymously, the steps to an account: pages seen on econta.tax, the sign-in page and the new-account form opened, the account made, signing in and choosing a role; these steps are kept 13 months. If you make an account, the steps before it and the source are linked to it, so we know how customers find us and where they stop, and to keep the service secure (legitimate interest). It is not used for advertising, not shared, and does not follow you on other sites; you can delete it in your browser. No advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
